Aligarh Muslim University's Residential Coaching Academy provides coaching to SC/ST, Women and Minority students for UPSC Civil Services, Judicial Exams and SSC CGL Exams.
The students who get selected after the written examination have to deposit Rs 2500/- as security deposit at the time of admission. Which is refunded on completion of coaching after a period of 10 months.
But an RTI reveals that the security deposit amounting to lakhs of rupees has not been returned by the Residential Coaching Academy since 2017. Mostly all the students belong to the low income group, and not returning the security deposit of those students without any reason shows irresponsible behavior by an education institution.
If the security amount was not taken by the students themselves, then the Residential Coaching Academy itself should have taken one step and refunded the amount of the said students. And there is a strong possibility that in all these years AMU would have received huge amount of interest on this deposit amount of the students.
Even God also don't know how long this security amount of those financially weak students will keep rotting in the bank accounts of AMU, will they ever be able to get it or not?
