Every Independence Day and Republic Day is celebrated by all the Embassies of India.
A lot of money is spent on these celebrations, which the Indian Public is unaware of.
An RTI was filed with High Commission of India Nairobi, Kenya to know the below mentioned information :-
How much money (in Rs.) was spent on the occassion of Independence Day of India in the year 2020.
Copy of bills of all expenses incurred on the occassion of Independence of India in the year 2020.
How much money (in Rs.) was spent on the occassion of Independence Day of India in the year 2021.
Copy of bills of all expenses incurred on the occassion of Independence of India in the year 2021.
How much money (in Rs.) was spent on the occassion of Independence Day of India in the year 2022.
Copy of bills of all expenses incurred on the occassion of Independence of India in the year 2022.
The point wise reply of the concerned Central Public Information Officer is given below :-
For Point number 1 and 2 CPIO replied that :-
Rs. 2,26,971/- (Two Lakh Twenty Six Thousand Nine Hundred Seventy One Rupees)of expenditure incurred on the celebration of Indian Independence Day 2020.
For point number 3 and 4 CPIO replied that :-
Rs. 2,08,044/- (Two Lakh Eight Thousand Forty Four Rupees)of expenditure incurred on the celebration of Indian Independence Day 2021.
For point number 5 and 6 CPIO replied that :-
Rs. 90,914/- (Rs. Ninety Thousand Nine Hundred Fourteen Rupees)of expenditure incurred on the celebration of Indian Independence Day 2022. It is a partial expenditure because some bills are awaited for settlement.
